The projected picture from this unit is awesome (it utilizes the DLP chip from Texas Instruments). I haven't used other DLP projectors, but I've used LCD projectors, and they can't even begin to compare. This system is very light, compact and easy to use and offers almost all the features I might need. |

I was very disappointed in Acer, though, when I tried to use the remote for mouse functions. When I purchased the projector, Acer's website said that this unit offered mouse control via the remote that shipped with the unit. Well, it turns out it doesn't, and five phone calls to Acer later, it looks like I can't even purchase a separate remote that will give me mouse control. They just screwed up the specs on the website. This is very disappointing to me, and I have not yet reached a resolution on this issue with Acer. |

Overall, though, if mouse control isn't an issue for you, I would strongly recommend this unit. It is priced wonderfully, and I've had good luck with Acer's products in the past. The bulb life is 1,500 hrs., though, which is more than some bulbs but less than others. It's the longest bulb life in its price range, but for about the price increase of what two bulbs would cost, you can get a projector rated for twice as many hours from Boxlight (their CD-454M), which does have an accessory remote mouse for $150. If I knew this before I purchased, I might have considered Boxlight. They only do projectors. It's nice that they specialize, but it also means that I have no experience with the dependability of their products. |
