What I Like: I love everything about this projector. I bought the Boxlight CD-455m, which is the same projector under a different label, and only $2790 direct. I like the fact that on a 80" Dalite Deluxe Insta-Theater screen my picture is better than ANY rear projection unit ever made and about 1/2 the price of the best ones.

Call Lenny Eckian at 800 659 9112 for a smokin deal.
Don't buy a DVDO Iscan Plus line doubler, the piucture looks fine without it and it may not work with the projector. |

I cannot believe people go out and spend $3500+ on a rear screen projector like a Mitsubishi. Sure they look good, but they are puny. The largest they make is 70" and costs $10,000. I put together my system for under $3500 ($2800 projector and a $450 80" screen). Plus I can take mine anywhere. I took it to my brother-in-law's house for the Super Bowl and it was a huge hit. Plus I can go even bigger. The local Ultimate Electronics Store is still selling the $5000 and $10000 Sharp pieces of junk because they don't want the consumer to know that there is a cheaper alternative to the 50 different big screens in the back that looks better. |

This projector looks outstanding on a gray (yes, gray) screen. I made this myself from a piece of masonite cut down to 4’ by 7’, framed with 2X2’s, primed and painted with a flat “Cape Cod Gray” applied with a foam roller. The results are breathtaking. |

(I wrote this same review for the Boxlight's twin, the Infocus LP340.) I am VERY happy with the image. There is one caveat with this projector. About 5-10% of us humans will see a rainbow effect at certain times during a movie – high contrast scenes such the white cuffs against the black suits in Men in Black – and only when your eyes are shifting from one portion of the image to another. I happen to be one of the unfortunate few who are sensitive to this phenomenon. It is inherent to DLP technology and the use of a color wheel. Despite this, the image is so incredibly gorgeous that I highly recommend this projector for home theater. I have seen reviews from a few people who find the rainbow effect unacceptable. Check out your vendor’s return policy, buy it, then you decide. |
