ProjectorCentral User Opinions Read User Opinions User Reviews Tim Mensch - Nov 16, 2000 Application: Home theater and video game projector What I Like: It has a bright image, and it has brilliant colors and a very sharp image when used in its native 1024x768 mode from a computer input. The zoom feature is nice, allowing some flexibility with projector positioning. Enough brightness to be shown in a room with moderate light at 100" diagonal. Comments: A good inexpensive video or computer (1024x768) projector option--it can be found used for $1500 or so. DVD video looks great through the RGB in. Fan noise seems loud (I don't know the dB), though when you're watching a movie it fades into the background. On the other hand, when you turn the projector off, the main fan goes off but a (quiet) power supply fan stays on, so if you want it to really be off you have to disconnect AC. The video in looks good compared to my old, low-res projector, though pixelated, along with all non-1024x768 resolution inputs--the best option is to use a VGA cable, letting your computer or a DVDO box do the scaling.
