| Application: |
Home Theater/Web Surfing |
| What I Like: |
Vivid color in video (DVD source) - the blue and red color in "Dreams May Come Ture" is just breath taking ! Ease of setup,
true wide screen function, Manual screen adjustment for RGB inputs allow you to optimize, value for money. HDTV (480p) ready via RGB connection.
VERY UNIFORM brightness, no hot spot !
SVGA allow adequate resolution for web suring, can also do XGA compression but seldom use.
High scan rate allow line-doubler/video scaler for future upgrading. Good comb filter. |
| Suggestions: |
Typical LCD's gray bars when view in wide screen,
would be nice if there's a screening built in to cut off the gray bars.
Fan noise still noticeble although lower than some other models.
Can take either composite OR S-video (non-switched). When both connected SVideo take priority. Would be better if it has a composite/S Video switch for home theater application.
(Can add a DVDO video converter at $700 for the purpose plus better line-doubling)
Should also include ceiling mount setting for ture versatile installation options. |
| Comments: |
All in all good value for money (~US$2300) for a
competent home theater set up and web surfing, plus a future proof investment. |
