As you my have heard the unit is very quiet in standard (low) power mode, but I was surprised how quiet it was in high mode. I’m just guessing but I’d say it’s only about 6db louder. Even in my partially lit room low power mode was fine.
There has been some discussion about whether the 75u has MLA. My manual confirms that YES, it does. This also must cut down on the screen door, as it is only evident form 8 feet or so on a 96 in. screen. Projecting about 130 in. I could see it from 13 feet away on brightly lit scenes. Also, I feel I must state that I am not practically screen door sensitive.
The auto setup feature was cool, and it really only take 1.5 seconds to adjust for the angle of projection. The colors were very accurate only after several minutes viewing did I notice that the greens seemed slightly high. Each color is individually controllable, so that shouldn’t be a big issue.
Also the picture mode is great for switching between DVD and Satellite and between bright and dark rooms.
The one weakness I’ve notice so far is contrast (of course). Actually it was better than I expected for a 400:1 contrast ratio. Black and white movies looked much better than they did on an LP770 I often borrow from work.
All and all a great Projector for the price! |
