I've owned the Sanyo for afew months now, after previously owning an InFocus LP730 XGA.
The Sanyo is better in pretty much every area. The black level is very good for an LCD projector. I don't get true blacks, but they seem subjectively right up there with DLP.
The internal scaler is very good. I tried it with a doubler, but the picture was better without it. The picture with anamorphic DVDs using the 16:9 setting is very sharp with no visible artifacts.
Particularly useful is the long zoom. I have the projector 15 feet back firing to an 80 inch screen, and the Sanyo is one of very few that would allow this.
The only real negative is that it is a little noisy, and I would prefer an XGA for HDTV (if it ever arrives). As it stands though, I really like the Sanyo and it will be tough to top when I do the inevitable upgrade.
This is the same projector as the Proxima LS1, and I recommend it to one and all. |

This is my first projector. I hooked the projector using the svideo port. The screen used is a Dalite Model B high power. I was very impressed with the picture and brightness. I will try a HTPC soon to see how well vga looks with this projector. I am impressed. I was going to purchase the Sony VPL-W400Q but the only place I can find it is on Ebay and people keep bidding higher than me. When I purchase another projector in the future, I will probably go with another Sanyo or one it's clones. Here is my website for my Home Theater To Be (HTTB).
