I hope this is somewhat useful - I'm at work and don't have time to read through all previous posts. I notice some talk about the shutdown/reset issue. I encountered this about 25 months and 1,900 lamp hours into my ownership of the PT-AX100U . I called a very nice gentleman at Heartland who quoted me a few hundred bucks just to diagnose the issue. Instead, I tried the q-tip fix and immediately fixed the issue. I removed the entire top casing of the projector (although I believe the iris may be more easily accessed through the trap door on the bottom?), sprayed some WD40 onto a q-tip, and rubbed it against the hinge of the iris (two maroonish plastic pieces). I haven't had a problem with it since!
I'm a big fan of this projector. I'm considering selling it only because I'm looking at picking up a 1080P unit.
