What's one way to show your wares without taking up space to store them? Employ the services of a good 3D projection mapper. I can't stop thinking about all the possibilities for projectors and creative projection mapping in the retail arena. This video, however comes from a trade show environment where dollars and opportunity make it critical to look big in the smallest space possible.

This wonderful Urbanscreen.com projection mapping production was sent by an architect friend of mine who tried to explain to me the meaning of parallax as it pertains to this video. Watch as the projected stripes bend the building's facade.

This mapping project by Glowarp was from a contest held earlier this year. Sit back and enjoy the glorious voice of Placedo Domingo and witness some evolution in 3D projection mapping: the introduction of a concept.

I hope to see more of these festivals all over the world. The Screen City Festival is taking place later this month (October 25th – 27th 2013.) in Stavanger/Sandnes Norway.
The whole concept comes from an attempt to study the moving image presented in public spaces, on the city`s facades, shop windows and urban venues in order take Stavanger out of its urban context through the vehicle of media art.more

A large 3D projection mapping installation in Europe that occurs every other Fall, this award winning production by URBANSCREEN 'COHERENT STATES', was featured in the Lichtsicht Biennale as it is known, in 2011/12. 120 meters long and 15 meters high the largest salt works in Western Europe is transformed into a huge projection surface for this projection mapping event and showcase for what we fans know is a most exciting emerging art form.

Production House Bot & Dolly have released this short film which I have officially placed at the top of my list of my favorite videos ever featured here in Creative Projection. "Box" is like nothing I have seen before. It uses robot powered projection mapping on moving objects to make the viewer consider the synthesis of real and digital space. The short film documents a live performance, captured entirely by camera.
If you watch on thing today let it be this so you can levitate, teleport and escape. And remember "Any significantly advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Arthur C. Clarke

Roger Waters' "The Wall Live" Concert tour is winding down after 27 performances across Europe. In this brief video, the co-founder of Pink Floyd, expresses his excitement over where projection technology was back in the 1970's (when he started touring) and the magnificent heights it is reaching now.more

There is not much to share about this delightful display of 3D projection mapping in the arts sphere other than it comes from the Stavanger Concert Hall in Norway where Mozart's Magic Flute was performed last September. Technicians used Motion Graphics with Adobe After Effects and modeling and Softimage XSI for the 3D modeling and animation.

Check out this mixed reality performance which uses a virtual world as the platform from which to explore 3D immersive spatial virtual and physical displays. You'll witness the performer ´s body interacting with three dimensional space because of computer vision, skeleton tracking, and the output of 3D video projection mapping.
