I thought I'd share my own recent experience with B&H so the information could benefit other ppl too; I bought a canon hv100 from B&H last week and everything went flawlessly except maybe some UPS bs. The hv100 was 639$ plus shipping and exchange it came to around 685$ cdn. The camera got delivered through UPS expedited and arrived 3 days later in Montreal. I only had to pay taxes and import duties which came down to 128$ for a total price all included of 813$. Locally the prices for this camera are all MSRP 949$ so I saved 25% on the purchase price not a bad deal at all. The only problem really is that UPS initially refused to hold the package for pickup after I missed the third delivery attempt, they insisted on returning the package to B&H. I had to push them to hold it and it was quite convoluted (call tomorrow before 6PM before we send the letter etc etc? bs). My advice if you order from B&H is to have them specify to UPS that they allow the shipment to be held for pickup. Also another weird UPS bs is that they wouldn't allow the package to be routed to their local UPS store which is near my house whereas the main UPS hub is really far from the city in the Montreal area, go figure they don't even thrust their own UPS stores. Overall I was really satisfied with B&H and I'm looking forward to ordering from them again. |

Being from Romania EU, it's very hard to find retailers that ship directly here. I had to ask for help from friends or even employees at online stores to ship products here. My experience with BH is years long and I have to say they are excellent. All they require to ship to the other part of the world is a scan of my card. Every time, they shipped same or next day, and their packaging was very good. They provide shipping flexibility, so I can choose from all main shippers. Their customer service was excellent, I really don't understand why others are complaining. They have a 15 days return and exchange policy that I think it's fair both ways. I totally recommend this retailer! |

| I have purchased a lot of equipment from B&H over the past few years. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the nicely double-box to found a "previously-returned" open box Samsung HD690 DVD player shipped and sold as NEW to me (factory sealed). Since B&H was about to close for a two-week hiatus, that nothing could be done to correct the problem until they return and the original box was returned. It will be over a month to get the replacement DVD player back. | |||

Reply from B&H Photo Video: B&H regrets your dissatisfaction. The Samsung DVD-HD960 DVD player we sold you has serial number ##########0076. We can search our database by serial number and see an item's entire history here. This particular DVD player was brand new and never before sold and returned when we shipped it to you. I am sorry if it did not meet your expectations. B&H did not "close for a two-week hiatus." We were closed Saturday Sept 23rd (we close every Saturday) and were closed Sunday Sept 24th for Rosh HaShannah. We closed Sun & Mon Oct 1st & 2nd for the solemn fast day of Yom Kippur and we closed Oct 7th through 15th for the festival of Sukkos. That's a 9-day hiatus, but since we're closed every Saturday anyway, there were only 6 work days during which we were closed. This order was shipped 9/21 and UPS delivered it 9/27. That's more than a week before the Sukkos hiatus. Under B&H transaction ######790 a replacement DVD player (serial number ##########0037) was shipped to you on 10/18 and delivered 10/24, yesterday. | I've purchased a lot of equipment over the years from B&H because of very good prices, reliability, prompt shipping, and good selection. However, I try to avoid them these days because of very unfriendly and inflexible customer service who seems to believe it's a distasteful burden to have to work with, well, customers, as well as draconian return policies. | |||

After much research, I chose B&H because of its reputation and it's one of the few photo-video stores in the USA which serve international customers. Order processing was fast. The item, shipped via UPS Express, arrived in 5 days. I'm quite pleased with the service. I just hope that B&H could work out an arrangement with manufacturers to extend International Warranty for items used outside of the USA. | |||
