Acer Announces K520 Hybrid Laser-LED Projector

In a move certain to stir the interest of school technology specialists, Acer recently announced the release of its K520 hybrid laser-LED projector. Why is this a significant development? Well, this projector is part of the ever growing trend toward hybrid laser-LED technology. Schools use their classroom projectors throughout the day and throughout the school year. Lamp replacement costs eat into budgets. This new technology has an exceptionally long life span which impacts maintenance and lamp replacement costs.

At 2000 lumens and a 100,000:1 contrast ratio, the image should be very clear. We are expecting our sample to arrive from Acer in mid July and we will test this assumption to determine just how fit this projector will be for use in education and commercial environments where the heavy use of projectors brings the high costs associated with lamp replacement.
