MITSUBISHI ANNOUNCES ANOTHER WIDE-FORMAT WXGA HIGH-DEFINITION PROJECTOR

WL639U displays Mitsubishi's commitment to HD for business and professional applications

Irvine, Calif., May 22, 2007 — Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division, known for award-winning, high-quality, high-definition presentation and display products, today introduced the latest addition to its LCD projector offerings: the wide screen, high-definition WL639U. Using the latest 3LCD® technology and blasting 3500 ANSI lumens with a native WXGA resolution (1280 x 800 pixels), this new HD projector is perfect for applications requiring high brightness and high levels of detail.

The WL639U provides WXGA resolution, which is ideal for higher education, government and business applications that need to display a 16:9 format as well as a 4:3 format. The wide-screen format displays newer high-definition digital video content perfectly as well as legacy content in 4:3 with no height reduction in screen size. The overall image displayed gives the impression that the screen size is not reduced, as only the sides are tapered.

"As users upgrade their computers and operating systems, it's important for them to future-proof their investments and match the projector displays to the format of their upgraded displays," said Frank Anzures, product manager, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division. "Mitsubishi continues to lead the way in making HD projectors available for business and professional use, this time using LCD technology for rich vibrant colors."

Mitsubishi's WL639U is a high-performance HD projector with a plethora of A/V connections for greater networking flexibility. Mitsubishi's exclusive ProjectorView™ is also available for remote LAN monitoring and control. The projector provides a security anchor and password lock for added safety, and up to a 4000 hours of lamp life for greater cost savings over time.

Pricing, Availability, Warranty
The suggested retail price of Mitsubishi's WL639U is $4995 and will be available in May through authorized Mitsubishi dealers. The projector comes with Mitsubishi's three-year limited warranty on parts and labor plus a 90-day limited warranty on the lamp. The WL639U is also covered by Mitsubishi's award-winning Express Replacement Assistance (ERA) Program, a nationwide comprehensive service provided for units under warranty that offers next business-day replacement for down units.
