Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America and Crestron Announce Plug-and-Play Projector Compatibility

IRVINE, Calif., June 3, 2009 - Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division and Crestron, a leading manufacturer of advanced control and automation systems, have announced plug-and-play compatibility with Crestron's award-winning RoomView control software and several of Mitsubishi's new projectors, including its EX240U, EW270U and EW230U-ST, and its dual-lamp models, XD8100U and WD8200U.

"Crestron's RoomView gives Mitsubishi projector owners more flexibility in presentation environments," said Wayne Kozuki, product manager, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division. "Installing our projectors into a RoomView system just got easier."

RoomView-connected projectors provide reliable web-based control of installed projectors for remote management and monitoring, and Mitsubishi includes all necessary firmware into its new projector models. Tech support requests can be sent instantly, lamp life and projector status can be monitored, shut-down schedules can be managed and emergency and daily announcement broadcasts can be made from any computer or laptop on a LAN.

"Direct RoomView control capabilities embedded in Mitsubishi projectors also means new sales opportunities for our dealers and programmers," states Steve Samson, Crestron director of business development. "We're putting basic Crestron control in the hands of people who otherwise may not know about Crestron control systems. Once they try RoomView for their projectors, they'll want to tie every device and every room together on the same platform. It just makes sense."
