CTX Opto Delivers New Weapon for Presentation Road Warriors
Leading Provider of Advanced Display Products Unveils Latest Lightweight, Affordable Member of EzPro Portable Projector Line
SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- March 22, 1999 -- CTX Opto, Sunnyvale,
Calif., has announced its latest addition to the EzPro family of portable projectors with
the EzPro 585, a sub-10 pound single-panel SVGA LCD projector ideal for sales meetings,
conferences, and training. The EzPro 585 continues the tradition of innovative products
from CTX Opto, which delivered the industry's first sub-10 pound projector and the first
projector to break the $3,000 price barrier.
"Portable projectors weighing under 10 pounds are
rapidly becoming the mobile professional's standard tool for quality presentations,"
said Barry Young, vice president and senior analyst at DisplaySearch, Austin, Texas.
"CTX Opto gives corporations a wide choice of products ranging from single panel
polysilicon solutions to DLP products."
CTX Opto is the only manufacturer to offer all three types
of portable projector technologies, including single-panel, polysilicon and digital light
processing (DLP), to deliver the flexibility to match the individual needs of mobile
professionals.
"Industry sales of portable projectors flourished in
1998, illustrating how these devices have become a standard business tool alongside the
laptop computer," said Wilson Chan, managing director for CTX Opto. "CTX Opto is
committed to meeting this demand by continuing to provide cutting-edge portable projectors
like the EzPro 585 that are bright, lightweight and affordable."
CTX Opto's EzPro 585's metal halide bulb illuminates a
conference room with 500 ANSI lumens, yet weighs only 9.9 pounds. A contrast ratio of
200:1, the ability to project 16.7 million colors and two built-in 3 watt stereo speakers
allow users to maximize presentation graphics applications for a full audience. On-screen
display menus allow easy set up and use with the PC, Macintosh and video sources. The
projector runs at a true 800 x 600 SVGA resolution and supports compression capabilities
to handle 1024 x 768 XGA resolution, with only a 320 watt power consumption.
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The EzPro 585 is available now through authorized
audio/video dealers and VARs. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is $2,995, and
includes a standard two-year warranty, soft-sided carrying case (which fits both the
projector and a laptop computer), remote mouse and all necessary interface cables.
