PANASONIC INTRODUCES PT-LC50U MICRO-PORTABLE PROJECTOR

Ultra-Light Unit Offers Mobile Professionals Bright Projection, Superb Portability

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 2000) -- Panasonic Broadcast & Television Systems Company has announced the 5.5-pound PT-LC50U, a micro-portable, high-performance S-VGA multimedia LCD projector that offers superb image quality for computer and video applications.

The PT-LC50U's impressive super-sleek design, small size and light weight guarantees that mobile professionals will make a big impression during every presentation. Specifically designed for the on-the-go professional, this projector is at home in large offices with multiple meeting rooms; in training, classroom or church settings; or anywhere the mobile user needs to present.

"At just 5.5 pounds, the PT-LC50U micro-portable is so ultra compact presenters will want to take it everywhere," said Steve Abend, Director, Presentations Systems Group, Panasonic Broadcast. "And it's so easy to work, it's almost automatic."

Delivering outstanding price-to-performance benefits, the PT-LC50U offers powerful features such as 700 ANSI lumens of brightness, and 800 x 600 true SVGA resolution while offering advanced resizing technology to display smooth, brilliant 1280 x 1024 SXGA resolution. The ultra-compact projector measures a mere 10.5" (W) by 2.9" (H) X 8.2" (D), and is equipped with a 2,000-hour long-life 130-watt UHM lamp.

The unit's one-touch Auto Setup button provides phase/clock tuning for optimal viewing and automatic keystone correction for specific angle display with its standard tilt arm. Its detachable swivel stand allows a user to quickly and easily adjust the image vertically or rotate it to compensate for an uneven surface.

The PT-LC50U offers exceptional video quality and is HDTV compatible, automatically resizing 1080i and 720p images for 16:9 wide-aspect display; 480p, 480i and 625i component video signals and S-Video can also be displayed in either 4:3 or 16:9. The unit delivers broad compatibility ranging from PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, SECAM, NTSC and M-NTSC.

Additional features include a 5X digital zoom, card-size remote control (which can be stored in the unit), RS-232C computer interface, advanced shutter, manual focus and zoom lens with cap for protection during transport, RGB/component input, composite video (RCA) and S-video inputs, selectable seven-language on-screen menu with graphical icons, and an universal AC power supply. The PT-LC50U can project on screens ranging in size from 30" to 300". A full-function wireless mouse remote control with laser pointer is an option.

Panasonic offers a high level of service and support with a three-year warranty on the projector, a 90-day warranty on the user-replaceable lamp module and a 24-hour projector exchange program.

The PT-LC50U is available in November at a suggested list price of $2,999. For more information on Panasonic's complete line-up of projectors and plasma systems, phone 1-800-528-8601 or find us on the web at www.panasonic.com/presentations.
