PLUS Vision redefines value priced projectors with new U5 Series
Offering security and full-featured versatility at a price any budget can afford
BEAVERTON, ORE. -- Oct. 28, 2003 -- PLUS Vision Corporation of America,
the
leader in projector miniaturization technology, unveiled today a new line
of
feature packed, aggressively priced projectors -- the new U5 Series.
These
projectors offer features traditionally found only in projectors priced
significantly higher, outside of many organization's technology purchasing
budgets. The new U5 provides the end-user with choices designed to meet
the
varied demands of today's presenters.
The first two models offered in the U5 Series include the U5-111, a 1600
lumen SVGA (800x600) projector with a short focus lens, and the U5-112 a
1600 lumen SVGA projector with a 1:1.2 manual zoom lens. Two additional
XGA
models will follow in early December.
Compact and weighing a light 4 lbs, the PLUS U5 Series offers a 2000:1
contrast ratio and displays crisp clear images with life-like colors. All
U5 models offer a 2000-hour lamp life, with an "Eco-Mode" option to extend
lamp life by more than 30 percent to 3000 hours. In addition to
whisper-quiet performance, the U5 employs Digital Light Processing(tm)
technology from Texas Instruments. This ensures that every user will be
able to enjoy a lifetime of superior image quality
"The PLUS U5 series is our most versatile line of projectors yet," said S.
Mark Hand, vice president, sales and marketing. "Utilizing today's best
technologies, we are able to deliver projectors that function equally as
well in an auditorium or classroom as they do in a small meeting room."
From presenters-on-the-go to educators to boardroom planning sessions,
presenters today require security features to deter theft. The U5 series
features password security protection that disables the use of the
projector
if a valid password cannot be produced. The U5 series also features a
keylock slot for anti-theft wire lock devices that keep a projector at its
intended location.
"The U5 provides the user the peace-of-mind to know that their projector
investment is well protected," added Hand.
The U5 series offers support for the latest video standards including
480p,
576p 780p and 1080i High Definition imaging and also features a built-in
line doubler. This improves and enhances the video performance from any of
the projectors video inputs, including component (YCbCr, YPbPr), S-video
and
composite video inputs.
The U5 series offers many features presenters demand including, auto
setup,
digital zoom, digital keystone correction, and a presentation timer. The
timer can be set for presentation times of 10 to 60 minutes in 10-minute
increments. It displays the remaining time for the presentation on screen.
Pricing & Accessories
The U5-111 will be introduced with a street price of $1,295 and the U4-112
at $1,595. The U5 series ships with all necessary data, video and audio
cables, a full-function remote control and soft carrying case, fulfilling
every requirement for effective presentations. The U5 series comes
standard
with PLUS's safe and secure 3-year warranty.
