DALLAS, TX - June 11, 1998 - ELMO's newest, lightest and brightest LCD Multimedia Data Projector was introduced today at the INFOCOMM International. The new ELMO LCD Projector, Model EDP-3100, features over 750 ANSI lumens making it one of the brightest in its class. With its compact size, a sleek design, measuring only 10.7" W x 13.9" D x 5.9" H, and an advanced miniaturized optical system, the EDP-3100 offers a full range of the newest technical and convenience features. Weighing in at just 15 pounds, it can be used as a desktop, ceiling-mounted or portable projector and is ideal for corporate applications, educators, workgroup meetings, training sessions, presentations and wherever bright, high-resolution, vivid color images are required.

The liquid crystal display (LCD) incorporates the latest technology featuring three 1.3" polysilicon TFT active matrix panels delivering 1,557,504 pixels (832 x 624 pixels x 3) for crisp, clear large screen images. Images can also be projected in compressed XGA (1,024 x 768) resolution with ELMO's proprietary digital compensation technology.

In addition to the EDP-3100's advanced electronic components, ELMO has equipped the projector with a high quality F2.5-3.5 powered 1.6X zoom/focus lens to project high clarity images from 20" up to a giant 640" (diagonal) making it easy to customize the presentation to any size room and audience. The lens automatically retracts when the power is turned off to prevent damage during transportation.

The EDP-3100 is fully compatible with virtually all major video formats and computer platforms with SVGA, VGA and compressed XGA for computer image output. Video compatibility includes NTSC, NTSC4.43, PAL and SECAM from built-in composite or S-video inputs. No matter which signal is used, the EDP-3100 can enlarge the image to maximum size for full screen display without sacrificing picture quality. This broad capability of accepting virtually any input source makes the EDP-3100 an outstanding tool for multimedia presentations. The projector uses a universal 100-240V AC power supply making it suitable for worldwide use.

The ELMO EDP-3100 features a built-in freeze frame capability enabling the presenter to pause and discuss specific details displayed in the freeze frame. The freeze function also permits the user to hold an image while changing video sources thereby making for a smoother transition and a more professional presentation.

A supplied wireless remote control with a built-in laser pointer allows the presenter to freely move about the room and maintain full control of the projector and computer cursor. The laser beam pointer can be used to highlight specific areas of the data or image.

Other features include dual PC input jacks, video jack, built-in 1.5W x 2 stereo speakers and amplifier, rear projection capability and multi-language on-screen display (English/French/German/Italian/Spanish).
