Plus Vision Corp of America Introduces Best-in-Class Three Pound
2000 lumen projector with wireless network and PC-free functionality
BEAVERTON, ORE. - November 9, 2004 - PLUS Vision Corporation of America, the
leader in projector miniaturization technology, today announced the new PLUS
U4-237; a 2000 lumen, XGA Projector. The feature packed model offers the best
performance with the strongest brightness in the 3.5 pound class.
"Reaching our goal of providing mobile professionals with projectors that are
as capable and versatile as larger conference room projectors is a milestone for
PLUS Vision," said S. Mark Hand, vice president, sales and marketing for PLUS
Vision Corporation. "With the U4-237's bright color-rich images and the best
projector features, presenters need not sacrifice functionality for weight."
Featuring Texas Instruments' Digital Light Processing™ technology and
additional proprietary technology from PLUS Vision, the U4-237 is equipped with
industry leading 2000 lumens of brightness and 2000:1 contrast levels. The high
contrast levels produce ebony blacks and alabaster whites that allow the eye to
perceive even greater brightness.
This new projector has new wireless network capabilities including a
CompactFlash (CF) card wireless LAN module that can connect multiple PCs without
the hassle of switching cords. The new CF card allows for basic projector
operations (e.g. power on and off or switch input signals) from a web browser
and the option to save PowerPoint™ presentations directly onto the CF card.
Presentations can be delivered directly from the projector; freeing a presenter
from connecting to a laptop.
PLUS has also built in WEP standard wireless LAN encryption for safe, secure
data transmission.
Leveraging technology and product synergies, PLUS Vision has also included
technology that allows images to be projected directly from a PLUS M-10
electronic whiteboard to the U4-237. Presenters can now place images directly
onto the built-in memory card of the U4-237.
Other key features that are standard with the PLUS U4-237 are the manual and
digital zoom, digital keystone correction, and a presentation timer. The timer
can be set for presentation times of 10 to 60 minutes in 10-minute increments.
The U4-237 also has "EcoMode", which extends lamp life by more than 30 percent;
providing a lower total cost of ownership.
The PLUS U4-237 supports the latest in video standards, including 480p or
576p for progressive DVD, and 780p or 1080i for HDTV. Its DVI (pure digital
signaling), RGB (data), component and composite inputs (video), enable the
presenter to manage any multi-media presentation or video viewing.
Pricing & Accessories
The U4-237 will be introduced with a street price of $2,495. The U4 ships
with all necessary data, video and audio cables, a full-function remote control
and soft carrying case. The U4-237 series comes standard with PLUS's 3-year
warranty.
