DWIN Introduces Three New DuoVision™ Systems

Ideal Solution for "Day/Night" Media Room Projects

BURBANK, Calif. – August 16, 2005 - DWIN Electronics, Inc. today introduced three new DuoVision™ dual-display systems including a new plasma/projector combination system with a suggested retail price less than $14,500.

DuoVision™ is the world's first dual-display high definition system that provides full digital connectivity between DWIN's TransVision™ 720p DLP® projectors and Plasmaimage™ HD-series plasma displays.

A projector/plasma and dual-plasma DuoVision system will be on display at DWIN's CEDIA 2005 exhibit in SR-4, in the Dome.

"DuoVision is the most convenient and elegant way to connect two high definition digital display devices to shared video sources," said David S. Brooks, vice president, marketing & sales. "Starting at a price competitors charge for a stand-alone DLP projector, DWIN offers a comprehensive dual display system comprising a 720p DarkChip™ 2 DLP video projector and a high definition plasma display.

The DuoVision™ dual display processor was developed in response to custom installers demand for greater convenience and flexibility in dual-display high definition home theater installations. DuoVision™ contains two independent modules of DWIN's acclaimed video signal processor for exceptional movie theater realism on two different DWIN high-definition displays. The DuoVision processor becomes the heart of a dual-display home theater system, offering a simple alternative to complex and costly devices such as source switchers and dedicated video processor/scalers.

"Custom installers can use DuoVision systems to install a high definition plasma display in a second room without compromising picture quality," said Brooks. "They can also use the DuoVision plasma/projector system configuration to build the ultimate media room for day-time/night-time home theater.

"With DuoVision, it is remarkably easy to build remarkably sophisticated home theaters," added Brooks.

The DuoVision processor delivers native-resolution digital video signals to each display via DWIN's high bandwidth DVI cables. This unique outboard processor design enables complete uncompressed HD digital video connectivity to each DWIN HD display for the best possible picture quality.

The processor is essentially future proof, supporting up to 10 video inputs including six high definition sources and scaling each to the native resolution of the connected digital display.

Deep black levels and natural color reproduction are secured with precision gray scale settings and gamma selections. Motion artifacts are reduced with Adaptive Film Mode processing and picture depth is increased with Signal Dynamic Range Expansion.

Suggested retail price for the new systems start at $14,490 for the DV-442 with DWIN's new TransVision 4 720p DLP projector and DWIN's 42-inch high definition plasma display, $16,490 for the DV-450 with 50-inch high definition plasma display, and $24,995 for the DV-461 with a 61-inch high definition plasma display. Other dual-plasma configurations start at a suggested retail price of $15,995.

Founded in 1985, DWIN Electronics, Inc. specializes in the design and manufacturing of high performance consumer and professional video projectors, digital video processors and displays.
