| Personal Experience |
| I've owned in the past 4-5 years the Sanyo Z-1, Z-2, Then tried DLP w/ the Optoma H77, then darkchip3 model H79 (rainbows were very annoying). I then went back to LCD with the Sony HS-51a. A little dim and some VB/color issues, so I went back to what I felt was best, The Sanyo Z4. Great smooth filmlike, yet razor sharp image with great contrast. I was hoping for a little more in shadow detail....and that's when the Z5 came aboard. Sanyo has delivered the full package with this projector! It's all there; the best shadow detail, dark blacks, amazing contrast, sharp and then some... (no need for a 1080p projector), and excellent color rendition. Blueray and HD content is what I'd always hoped it would be. The automatic lens door is great. All projectors should offer this feature yet none do to my knowledge. Take it from my experience, this is the best theater experience you can hope for at this price and even thousands more. The auto iris, from my personal experience, is a must to see the best contrast and shadow detail. The Optoma H79 I owned had great black levels yet I couldn't see great shadow detail because my eyes couldn't see past the few bright parts in the scene. The auto iris darkens the whole scene a little so your eyes don't have to adjust as much and shadow detail becomes more prevalent. Very good color adjustment features and intuitive remote. Ok, I'm done rambling on here. This is a keeper! Unless the Z6 has..... |
