Personal Experience
This is my second projector. I owned the PLV-Z1 prior to the Z-5, and I had a GREAT experience with the Z-1. That is probably the most underrated projector of it's time! I picked up the Z-5 because all of the reviews and recommendations basically told me it was a night and day difference between the Z1 and the Z5. I would disagree on the night and day, however there is a difference. Contrast is better. Although with the Z1 I was able to achieve a almost black screen when no content was playing with great contrast in video whereas the screen with the Z5 is gray now. I suppose it's the IRIS doing it's job when video content is displayed. The deinterlacer isn't bad, i've gotten some noise with 1080i through Brighthouse cable watching 24, but not bad. The sharpness of this projector is STELLAR!!! It makes images look 3D because of its sharpness. That's where the Z1 was VERY weak in. The color depth and accuracy is very good as well. I find myself changing color modes between Cable and DVD, but thats because Brighthouse cable really sucks and they run their content either full blast bloom or too dark. Highdef programming with BH is too dark. The projector is a incredible performer with any animated movie. I've never seen any picture look better on any other projector. I've compared the Z5 to the new Sony 1080p projector and image quality wise, they were even, including sharpness. The projector is very easy to install thanks to it's lens shift option and Zoom level so you can put it anywhere in a room. It's also very quiet (most of the time) Sometimes it'll get louder but not enough to distract from a movie. I'm running all content via component cable right now but i'm getting ready to upgrade to all HDMI, which is from what I understand achieves the best image/contrast performance, so i'll probably be back for an update when that is done. Until then, best bang for the buck!

Problems
None, except issues caused by sub-standard HDTV content from Brighthouse networks.
