Personal Experience
Fresh out of college with relatively standard fulltime job. I'm using the projector to watch anything and everything, analog cable (through a vcr with composite cable), digital cable (with S-video), vhs (again composite), dvd (component soon to be HDMI), nintendo Wii (component-awesome), and downloaded television (through VGA). Everything about it works great and the remote control has shortcut buttons to anything you'll need to bother doing (switching feeds or aspect ratios). I'm shooting about an 8-10 foot diagonal image onto a light-gray wall from about 12 feet away, and it's awesome, just make sure your dvd has progressive if not upscalling to get a theatre-quality experience out of dvds. For ~1000 bucks, you can't go wrong.

Problems
Completely a unique situation, but if you are renting, and can't permanently anchor into the ceiling, you might consider one of the taller shelving units from IKEA, or if you're like me, you build a box frame to the ceiling out of 2x4s. Anyways the problem is that the projector uses small metric screws (6M I think) and they're tricky enough to come by. Rona has some but they're so short I had to go somewhere else to find screws long enough to screw through a piece of plywood as well as get the ~1 cm of engagement required. otherwise, awesome!
