| ---This is a follow-up to my previous review--- I finally emailed tech support at Optoma about the rainbows. They sent an RMA# without a single question. I sent the unit back, and they returned it in about 7-10 days. The repair sheet listed "Defective Symptom: Old Version, p/n 75.83J01G002 ASSY OSRAM LAMPDRIVER 230W(435". I plugged it in, and let me tell you, it was 100% better!! Yes, there are still some rainbows - as there will be with any DLP, but the difference is really night and day. I am guessing that there may be manufacturing issues with the early units off the assembly line (mine is a serial number in the first 150 units...). If you have this projector and are seeing rainbows, definitely send it back for repair. Now that that problem is fixed, I can definitely recommend this projector. |
