Personal Experience
This is my first projector so I don't have much to compare it with. I spent years reseaching on here what projector to buy. I was following this one very closely, but I had my mind made up to buy the HC5000, until I read on engadget that the HC6000 was coming out, but I didn't know when and I was confused by the lower lumens output. When I saw this model in Best Buy fopr $950 with a "free" trial (no restocking fee per the manager) I figured it was worth the try, I'd rather save $2000 if I could help it. I have been very pleased with my purchase. This projector is extremely bright, I only noticed a few times the "rainbow effect" but not anymore. HD-DVDs and BioShock/Halo 3 is really impressive. I say "wow" a lot. Currently my image projected on just a "ceiling white" painted 4x8 sheetrock (for now). Curious how much better it will be with a real screen. I do wish it had an electronic zoom/focus, so when movies are 2:35 letterbox I could easily hit a button instead of manually zooming a bit more to fill my entire screen. Also the offset that it has can be troubling for installation, and I had to do some keystone correction for my ceiling mount, but once I get my electric screen, and move it back a bit, that may change. It's very quiet. And I like how it looks compared to many projectors. It's pretty small. Wish it had two HDMI inputs, but I bought a HDMI switch box instead, and tha'st better so I don't have to run all that cable.

Problems
Any signal sent to it in 720p has a strange refresh line every few moments, seems to happen more with quick moving shots. It's a grey line, like you are seeing it refresh really slowly top to bottom. Almost like a piece of flatt glass is dropping over the image. I tried changing all the seetings, nothing worked. I thought maybe it was my 360 until I purchased a Samsung OTA HD box, that did it too. It can be really annoying. When I switched my 360 and my HD TV box to 1080i the problem went away. (YES!) It isn't my 75' HDMI cable, or my HDMI switch box, I tried other cables and not using a switch box and it still did it. I only wish the 360's dashboard didn't look so blurry in 1080i, cause it looks great in 720P, in-game looks awesome either way.
