| I have owned at least 3 other projectors by Sanyo (LCD) and Mitsubishi (DLP) but the JVC DLA-RS1U, in pretty much any measure you care to think of, easily trumps them all. The JVC combines the best preformance features of LCD (color etc.) and DLP (contrast etc.) into one beautiful package. When I play 1080p Blu-ray discs the color, sharpness, saturation, contrast etc. are so amazing as to defy description. HD programming in 720p or 1080i is just as inspiring. I project onto a 90 inch diagonal 1.3 gain home made screen sitting about 14 ft. away. I tried tuning the projector using the Avia system, but it was not necessary, the projector is pretty much optimum right out of the box. It is even veiwable during the day time (windows curtains pulled, as with any TV), its lumens output is good enough for this as well. I am so happy with this product! The extra cost was worth every penny. I will never go back to fake contrast/dynamic iris LCD or the too dark DLP. JVC's D-ILA system is clearly superior. |
