| My review is based on the following setup: Screen is 110" diagonal, white with 1.3 gain, ceiling mount with 15.5 ft throw distance. Video is from PS3 via HDMI 1.3 & HD cable box via component cable. The AE2000 is my third projector in 9 years in my light controlled room. The PJ just replaced was a Sony HS10. I LOVE this PJ. Picture alignment was a breeze with the vert & horz lens shift. Some say the power focus & zoom is too fast, which is true if you hold the button, but if you tap it, it moves in very small steps for sharp focus. Contrast ratio is excellent. Intro to Motorstorm shows very dark but detailed shadow area while the sunlit desert is naturally bright. I use "normal w/ eco lamp" mode for HDTV & "cinema 1 w/ eco mode" for Bluray movies. Too much emphasis is placed on PJs that do "black" well. The Panny does have great blacks, but it is able to throw a flame if that is required, also, such as any outdoor event on a bright sunny day. That is something low ANSI PJs can't do, no matter how much you tweak it!! Over all image is sharp with rich color saturation right out of the box. Just buy the AE2000. The "WOW" factor for the $'s spent is going to be hard to beat! Did I mention I LOVE this PJ !! |
