| Bought it Feb 2005 and was extremely pleased until just recently see this blue haze especially noticeable when projecting black. I have 3,500 of use and just put in my 3rd bulb. So this amounts to over $1 per hour of use. Way too high. I noticed similar blue haze issues with other opinions and am investigating a fix with Panasonic. Dealer / repair shop said if its the optical block you may as well get a new projector. I do not think projectors should only last 3 years with babied normal use. I max 4 hours per viewing, wait at least 30 minutes before restarts, run fan high, econo mode lamp and clean filter monthly. To me this is a serious product issue if it happens to so many projectors and Panasonic should fix this problem by sending new optical blocks to all owners who ask. I am not prepared to buy new projectors every 3 years. I will only check projectors in the future that have minimum 3 year warranty and will purchase extension to 4 or 5 years. This is where this industry needs to head if it wants to make a mark for projector use. However the projector approach is great for me and viewing was excellent till now especailly in HD on a 100 inch Goo painted wall. |
