| I used this projector for 1 year as a dedicated home cinema device. Now I upgraded into Sanyo PLV-Z2000, hence a very interesting conclusion: the PLV-Z4 machine is a really strong unit! It cannot challenge the PLV-Z2000 of course, but taking into consideration its price and features it presents a really good value for the money. At a 1.0 gain screen (basic daLite matt white) the overall picture quality and saturation was perfect (given a good source signal, interconnectors and assuming no ambient light in the room). The only test I missed with this unit is a decent upgrade into 720p signal, but even with 576p the final outcome was very good. The low noise is remarkable (the Z2000 reported as 19dB is much louder due to a noisy iris), and the installation versatility really unique. You might of course rise the HDMI inputs below 1.3 version, but with 720 resolution it should not bother you too much in my opinion. Anyway - I had this unit right over my head and it REALLY did not disturb, even when the volume was turned down. The remote is perfectly planned and really convenient in use (the backlight is also a plus). To be honest - paying almost the double for my the Z000 I expected a substantial rise in image quality, which at 576p signal disappointed my expectations to the favour of strong abilities of PLV-Z4 (a substantial rise of overall quality takes place at higher resolutions - which are anyway out of range of PLV-Z4). My recommendation - if You're up to an entry projector - don't hesitate and go for this machine! |
