| My home town was hit by a 500-year flood back on June 7th, 2008 and my home theatre, which was in my family room downstairs filled with 7' of water. I lost everything, including my HP VP6320 projector. Since I still don't have the resources for a 1080P projector, I tried to find the best of the cheaper models. Since HP no longer makes projectors, I knew it wasn't going to replace my HP VP6320, which I loved. But I walked into Sam's Club the a few days ago and they had a new model on the shelf. The specs were impressive and the price was terrific ($698). I snatched it up and brought it home (yes, I did pay for it.. you know how they are at Sam's) and connected it to my Samsung BP UP5000 combo HD DVD/Blu Ray player and what a surprise. I am projecting it on a Gray Wolf 100' screen and it looks fabulous. The 2500 lumens is more than enough for you to watch a movie with a light or two on, or with daylight shining in the windows....and the colors are bright, vivid and clean. The native resolution is 1024x768 so it looks crips and clean at 720P. Incredibly, the picture at 1080i looks just about as good as the same picture on my Hitachi 67" 1080P TV. I have no problem recommending the Sharp XR-32X to anyone wanting an entry level projector with some kick. By the way, it does have a DVI-D port with DCHP so it will display all of your movies, Blu Ray, HD DVD and all upscaled regular DVD's, A fairly cheap DVD-D to HDMI adapter is available at Radio Shack or any A/V store. I've done a lof of projector comparing since last June and all in all, the Sharp XR-32X has the best bang for your buck in projectors! |

| It does require a somewhat unique ceiling mounting bracket, so you can't use the cheaper generic mounting brackets. That can wind up adding another $100-$150 to the price. Otherwise, no problems whatsoever! |
