Personal Experience
This unit gives a nice bright picture so you can blow your image size all the way out, but the contrast is fairly weak, which you notice whenever the image is dark. Set-up was easy and noise produced during operation [this is on econo mode] was modest, the conversion between picture formats was automatic and transparent. 1024x768 gives a significantly better than SD, if not spectacular, picture quality. I was very satisfied with this projector, and spent many happy hours playing video games and watching semi-HD sports and movies.
Problems
I bought a demo model online and it came with a single stuck pixel, which isn't usually all that noticeable, and no more of them have gotten stuck in the two years since. After I failed to clean the dust trap for several months, the lamp failed badly at 2500 hours and damaged the lamp access door to the point that it had to be replaced, but afterwards everything worked as before.
