| I used it connected to a Wii and a portable screen for a video game party the day after Christmas. It worked great! I also use it for chick flicks. I throw up my 84' portable screen and put the projector on my coffee table 5 feet away. I run a second HDMI cable from my Samsung 1200 (remember those?) and I'm good to go. It has a couple small speakers in it so you don't have to plug it into a surround system. (Of course, you will want to any way. I like the fact that it is a short throw projector but did not expect it to also be very good with Hi def movies. It's native format is 4:3 but it works fine for 16:9. When I set it up for the first time to try it out I used the Dark Knight as my reference disk. I accidently watched the whole movie! This projector even has modes to compensate for different color walls (including blackboard) so you don't absolutely have to have a screen. (Of course you will want one anyway.) It will do a 100" image from 6 ft away. This summer I'm taking it out to my patio and watching movies under the stars. I tried lugging my flat screen around like that but it hurt my back. Too bad projectors are going away! Short answer: I like my MT512ST. It's portable, quiet, and does a great picture for the money. |
