Personal Experience
Optomas throw ratio statements are inconsistent between its specifications where it clearly shows a throw ration of 1.55 to 1.7 (http://marketing.optomausa.com/PDFs/datasheets/Optoma_HD66_Datasheet.pdf) and its owners manual which fails to specicially list a throw ratio but by the numbers give presents a throw ratio of 1.95 to 2.1 (http://marketing.optomausa.com/PDFs/usermanuals/HD66%20User's%20Manual.pdf)
NOTE the real throw ratio in my experience is 1.95 to 2.15 to 1.

Most websites list the native resolution as NATIVE HD 1280x720. This would be a 16:9 ratio. In my experience this however IS NOT a Native 16:9 projector it is native 16:10 and the actual native resolultion is 1280x800.

This means to use it in 720p mode it must interpolate. I can see the wider native light pattern on the wall above and below of the screen.

Problems
After only 1.2 hours of use the projector failed with a warning "FAN LOCKED, Contact authorized service center." Google research suggests this has been a consistent problem with this projector and others (Inluding the HD65)

I emailed Optomas customer service (which you must do through a web appelet they do not provide a diret email address) they have not responded in over 7 days. I believe the company I purchased this from (Adorama) will honor this warranty but overall a very terrible experience. Caveot Emptor.
