Big improvement in image quality over my previous TLP-550 (this unit would not operate in 1080i50 mode - Toshiba Australia replaced the unit with the T50MU to fix the problem). The T50 has two downsides (not major) the first being the menu system - the 550 allowed you to swap between inputs ie S-VHS & Component Video without going through a series of menu steps. The second problem being that the "Thru" mode option that was available on all input modes of the 550 is now only available on the T50 in the RGB mode. Apart from these problems the unit is definitively a very could choice for those wishing to run 1080i HDTV - on a 300cm screen the quality is excellent with no noticable pixelation, ghosting, colouring etc. |

| Make sure you use good quality 75 ohm video cables to feed the Component Video input - the unit has such good resolution that any cable mismatch is noticable in the form of ghosting on high contrast images. |
