I've had this projector for 6 months now and it's fantastic. When friends tell me they're thinking of getting a plasma screen, I have them come over and check out the NEC - they leave amazed at the size and quality of the picture for the same or less money than plasma.
As described in other reviews, the input signal makes a huge difference. In fact, though logically I can't think of any reason why, I seem to notice far less rainbow artifacting using component inputs than I do with s-vid or composite. The worst cases are black/white films with sharp contrasts. (the Coen brothers' "The Man Who Wasn't There" has been the worst so far) The quality of the source DVD starts to really make a difference here, the best I've seen have been "Fellowship of the Ring" special edition and the superbit version of "Fifth Element". |

| Problems |
| Some evident pixelation of high-saturation reds, particularly with red on black titles. Otherwise blows away anything up to twice the price. |
