Personal Experience
The picture produced from this product is stunning! It is the best projector of any kind that I have had in my home, going back to Advent & Kloss units of the 70s & 80s.
Kept hearing about black level deficiencies with DLP projectors, but that problem is non-existent with the TV3. Blacks are superb - and that is even on a WHITE screen (StudioTek 130).
One & only minor complaint would be slight red push, but how many projectors (front or rear) don't suffer from that? Just get it calibrated.
Fan noise is not at all bothersome - simply sounds like air conditioning coming through your air vents. Not the slightest distraction.
Also was leary of a "digital" looking picture, however this is also non-existent, as the picture looks as film-like (as if in a movie theater) as anything I have ever seen.
Very simple menu to use, but would recommend professional installation - vastly experienced, they got it "just right". So, cannot say I've had any difficulties with throw distance at all.
Just cannot say enough about the TV3 - it surpassed all of my expectations with respect to color range, brightness, contrast (white, whites & black, blacks) and sharpness (you've got to love that absence of convergence problems); and the film-like reproduction of DVDs is incredible. Artifacts are not a problem at all either, with respect to the processor. And there is no light leakage to complain about, either.
Does all of this sound a bit different than a couple of other reviews of this product on this site? Yep.
I cannot tell you anything at all about the problems any other folks have had, because I haven't had any of them. And the first review of this product is completely erroneous, because the TV3 wasn't even sold (available through dealers) until extremely late April, to early May of this year.
Of course, the price could always be lower, but like just about everything else in the marketplace - you get what you pay for - and you get a real lot with this DWIN.
