| I bought the DX650 to "upgrade" from my SVGA Screenplay 4800(X1). The price, resolution, short throw lens and especially the direct component connection were my reasons for buying. Also, a free lamp promo until 12/31 was an added attraction. The image quality was a big improvement from my unit although the colors were slightly inferior due to the lower contrast. The price and short throw lens also were satisfatory. Unfortunately for me the YPbPr connection made this purchase an unhappy one. This is due to the fact that I was going to use the 650 strictly for my home theater and connected to my dvd player and sat. receiver with no PC hook up. Therefore I cannot access certain parts of the menu via video, S-video or sadly YPbPr connection. This limits what I can do in these inputs and defeats the purpose. I called BenQ support and although the manual tells about the video and S-video restrictions on the menu, it misinforms about the component connection. I have read all the positive reviews here and I was wondering(hoping)if there was a way I could make this projector work the way I need it to. That doesn't seem to be possible however and I am returning the unit within the next day or two.. Other than the problem I've mentioned, this unit should make most users happy with it's features and great promo but I couldn't make it work for me. |

| Direct component hook up is very limiting. I ask anyone who was happy with this projector to please email me at JGDragov@aol.com with any disputes to my claims. I genuinely would like to be educated and possibly not have to return this unit. |
