| IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ANYONE WITH BULB EXPLOSIONS USE A SURGE SUPPRESSOR! My story about Infocus is unbelievable. Purchased LP340, it and it's (6)replacements failed, EXPLODED after 100 to 300 hrs. One popped a power supply(CLUE!) Infocus is FEDEXing replacements all the while. God bless 'em. I ran dedicated circuit to projector. I sunk hundreds into air cleaning system to clean intake air and have mastered the biweekly dissassembly and cleaning of projector. Tried LP350, POPPED. LP500 shipped to me in attempt to introduce a different model into my environment. 2 or 3 later I also figured that I'd plug the unit into the Belkin surge suppressor that protects my HTPC. FIXED!! Hmmm, is that all it takes!? DUH!!! Let that be a lesson to you kids out there! In all my dealings with Infocus techs it was never discussed A FRIGGIN' 8 dollar supressor!!! I suspect the sensitivity of the bulb/power supply to spikes especially at the high running temperatures is the root of the problems. Sorry if I bankrupted you guys... heh heh. |
