| The good things : the default color is great. Gamma value is perfect in RGB mode. I never saw this perfect color setting. It is subjective but almost as good as AE500 or a little better than that. Unlike sanyo Z2, you don't need to change color setting. If you watch Divx, there are lots of artifact in 100 inches screen. But it shows very well in this project. I think it is due to PixelWorks chip. It is not good as DCDi but better than nothing. |

| The bad things : There are lots of bad stuff about focusing issue. If you connect to HTPC, it becomes more clear and I found out there are no consistency each product by product on this issue. If you are lucky, you might have an chance to get the better one in focusing. But I saw some user posted a picture having very bad focusing issue. This is assembled in China but TW500 made in Japan also have the same problem. It is not very sharp. Another one is uniformaity issue. In pattern test mode, the other side seems to be yellowish. Again, if you are lucky, you are not getting this one. If not, it can be noticed very clearly. Another problem is the vertical/horizontal sync issue. Once you connect to HTPC, other product like Z2 or AE500 automatically detect the sync. Epson also did it but not for 1280X720.For this mode, you should do it manually. It is a pain. I talked to LCD engineer and he said Epson's DAC doesn't seems to be good as Panny's AE500. But he said all the parts in this project use premium one unlike other similar projector. His opinion is that Epson's optic is excellent but its electric processing technology is very poor. Contrast : No DVI is bad one but it is OK. The contrast is 1000:1 but actual measured contrast in cinema mode is around 450:1. This actual contrast ratio seems to be better than Sanyo Z2 or panasonic AE500 even though they have 1300:1 in their spec. Please don't believe the spec. Spec is only spec. Not in the actual environment. Waranty : Strangely, Epson US does not respect the international waranty for this product. Most of Epson projector has the international waranty. |
