Personal Experience
I've had my HT1000 for just over a year. Picture is great, no rainbows, great colors and blacks. All the inputs I need, and easy to use.

Problems
When I first got the projector, the RGB input did not work. I took it in for service and learned that the RGB jack had to be resoldered. With about 650 hours on the lamp meter and total projector time, the lamp began to need 2 or 3 restarts to fire. Then, just over 700 hours, the lamp failed. This is unacceptable to me, as all the specs say the lamp is good for 1500 hours, or up to 2000 in eco mode. I've used my projector in eco mode exclusively. It has not been abused and has only been removed from the ceiling mount for service once, just after I got it. I've used it almost exclusively to watch movies. Customer service (800-836-0655) was worthless this time, and told me there was nothing they could do because the lamp was only covered for 6 months. I would not have purchased this unit if I knew the lamp was only good for 700 hours. Any questions, email me.
