Personal Experience
the sharp is one great beast. It is big (36lbs), built sturdily, quiet, and most of all, with great picture quality, color and brightness for a 4 year old projector. It will still beat the newer ones. No one can touch is value for money if you can get it used. I got one used, which I did for U$600.00. I can get a new one, but after inspecting all current offerings, they just couldnt meet my built requirements, they all look flimsy. I do not think they will last at least five years.

The sharp itself is an installation grade projector. With that in mind, you can expect a very sturdy projector that will last a for more years.
