Personal Experience
I have only had this projector for a week, but so far it is outstanding. I am projecting it on a 126" diag draper screen from about 18 feet away and I am sitting about 14 feet away. By all calculators I am too close. However, if there is any screen door effect at that distance, it is not noticeable to me; especially when I get into a movie. For now, the unit is on a table behind my couch and I cannot hear it when watching (then again, I am an action flick kind of person so I probably wouldn't hear it). Setup was easy and for me, the image out of the box is really good. If you are a normal working person looking to go big screen after having a 32 inch TV for years and you just want something BIG! This is more than enough. If you need to be able to not see pixels when sitting less than 5 feet from the screen and you are going to sit with a light meter and calculate the lumen drop from one side of the screen to the other and you are going to replace a throw pillow on your couch because you think the reflected light from the screen is hitting it and causing artifacts back on the screen, then this may not be the projector for you. For down to earth people who really just want a great picture and want it large, you cannot go wrong with this projector.

There are just a couple of things I would have preferred to see on this unit. 1) A DVI port. Hitachi has a similar level of projector as far as price and resolution and it does have a DVI, but I couldn't find one to demo; cannot demo, cannot buy. Supposedly there is a D4 adapter for HMDI/DVI cable. 2) When sitting on a shelf, the lens shift will not shift the image any real amount below the projector (example, projector on shelf at 9 feet and top of screen is at 7 feet, you cannot lens shift it so that the image will fit on the screen). However, turn it upside down (ceiling mount) and the previous scenario would work fine; I would have liked a more balanced approach to that.
