| After doing a bit of research while looking for a good, yet affordable projector, I settled in on the X2. My primarry use of the projector is for gaming (PC and console) and a bit of TV/DVD watching. Setup was a walk in the park, and I only needed to consult the manual to ensure i wasn't doing something that might potentialy damage the unit. I have to say, I was shocked at the image quality when I first hooked it up. I played several games, including Pirates, WWII Online, and World of Warcraft. All looked great while being projected onto a plain white wall, in a fairly dark room. PS2 looked ok, but it only supports an S-Video connection. I'm still waiting on the component video adapter to see how Xbox games look, but if the PC games are any indication, I'm sure they'll look great. Also, I watched Autin Powers 'Goldmember', and was equally impressed (as was my girlfriend, who is not impressed by any of these types of things). To be honest, the quality wasn't too far off from my Sony Wega 32'' HDTV. Only a couple of downsides... - Ceiling mounts are way too expensive and hard to find, but this is true for any projector, it would seem. - The proprietary M1-DVI port on the back is a big mistake. It seems like this was done to force you to purchase adapters from InFocus. All in all, a great unit at a superb price. |
