The only contender to the Sony Qualia-004. Still based on Epson's D4 LCD panels, colors are absolutely stunning and image silky smooth. The best shadow detail I have ever seen on any LCD/DLP video projector. Not very bright but enough for a 130" Screen with good gain. The Qualia-004 with its 700W Xenon bulb is brighter out of the box but by the time it hits 500-1000 the bulb's output is less than half. Sony is working on a fix fro the problem including using a stringer bulb in a future revision while in the meanwhile they send you one free replacement bulb (they are 3 grand a pop!!!... The Fujitsu's are only $500). Also the Fujitsu comes out of the box much better calibrated then the Qualia, so even on a new Qualia (technically outputting about 2900 lumens with a brand new bulb) you'll get 1/2 that amount of light by the time the machine is properly calibrated. Still overall a bit brighter than the D-711.

Problems
First unit had misaligned LCD panels and showed misconvergence of colors (1 pixel magenta on left and one green on right). It was exchanged for another one./ Still not completely perfect but at a standard viewing distance looks good. There is no interchangeable lens and it a fairly long throw one. I have to use a NAVITAR SiverStar wide angle lens adapter to widen the image.
