Let me start by stating the goals I had in mind before buying a projector. I was looking for a projector that I could use for business but was good enough to take home on the weekends to watch DVD’s and regular TV. It was also critical that I found a projector that could accept 480p (for progressive scan DVD players) and HDTV. I also decided to go with a DLP projector as it did a much better job of handling video in my opinion compared to LCD. I spent a good month researching projectors and seeing demos before deciding to purchase an Optoma EzPro 735. The EzPro 735 met all of these criteria and far exceeded my expectations in terms of the quality of the picture it produces. I have had the EzPro 735 for a few weeks and have been using it at home on weekends to watch DVD’s and TV. I don’t see any reason to spend more money or buy a larger projector. The Optoma EzPro 735 weights only 3 pounds, produces an amazing image, and handles 480p and HDTV signals. I specifically purchased a progressive scan DVD player to test out this machine and was blown away by the quality of the image. The projector produces a fabulous image from a DVD player that in my opinion rivals going to the movies. I have experienced all of this by simply projecting the image on a smooth wall in my living room without a screen. This is the kind of projector that is so small you can take it with you to a friend’s house to watch a game as long as they have a space on the wall and no direct lighting on the projection area. Before buying this projector I was considering purchasing a rear projection HDTV. I am now seriously contemplating buying my own EzPro 735 and dedicating it for home use. Why bother with a 300lb big screen HDTV?
Problems
I have not encountered any problems with the Optoma EzPro 735. After reading Projectorcentral’s review regarding the EzPro 735’s trouble handling the color red I could notice the color red slightly overpowering the other colors buy it was negligible. I would recommend this machine to anyone.
