Personal Experience
I bought this model a few days ago and am blown away by the awesome picture it displays. I was expecting a picture that would be considered washed out. I was amazed when the picture that displayed was brilliant and vivid. The colors seem exactly the same as my 15inch Powerbook’s screen image. Amazing. Truly amazing. All this at a cost that is quite affordable. I have not yet tested using Svideo, and why would you want to use component is beyond me. To answer some questions, this machine is very very bright, you should be able to see the picture quite well even with some light on. Furthermore, the project does handle both 4:3 and 16:9 views. Using a projection screen also makes a huge difference and I would recommend doing so. The projector also can get very hot, right around the bulb area. The rest of the projector stays cold. The buttons on the top of the projector help with many different things including keystone effect, however you can turn off the light on the projector without the remote, to let the machine cool down on it’s own. I am not sure why this is, but it appears that the machine is designed this way. The machine also has a software menu that allows you to change colors, viewing settings (such as film, presentation) and many other options. The menu is easy to use, and create custom settings. All in all, this is a great investment and will display home movies or DVD’s with outstanding quality and clarity. Enjoy.

Problems
The only thing that bugs me is the lack of remote control. I am not sure what to think about that. In addition, I have had some trouble understanding exactly how to correctly shut the projector down, as the manual is rather unspecific.
