Personal Experience
wonderful projector. got it for less than 2k. coming from a sony hs10 and its an amazing step up for near half the price. projecing a 181" image on it from almost 25 feet. with every light on in a 2000sq ft room its still amazingly bright. i personally dont understand why people want to make a home theatre just like a real theatre and kive in the dark in a dark room...i dont want to spend all my time in a dungeon :) so to me these have to work in total brightness with normal interiors; white walls, white carpet, skylights and it still is extremely bright. contrast is a huge step up from my hs10 of course but i was waiting for the 7205 to come down in price and i was using that as my enchmark and the 550 is as good or better from what i saw. with the replacement warranty means to me its safe to buy online and save on tax because you deal directly with epson if you have a problem..this was the closer for me because for these kinds of purchases i like the ability to take it back to the store. again, wonderful unit in every way.
