| Six months ago, I bought the Optoma 739 for classroom presentations at our church since it has a DVI input that matched the output of my Mac 12" Powerbook. Works great on this. Then I noticed that the unit would interface nicely with the Hi Def. DVR set top box (Scientific Atlanta 8300) that Time Warner Cable supplies at $7.95/mo. I bought a 50 ft. HDMI (from SA 8300) to DVI cable so I could run the cable, out of sight, through the attic. For very little additional outlay, I now have superb Hi Def. TV. Even satisfactory during the day with some light coming in through the windows. I have recently seen these units greatly discounted with a spare bulb thrown in. I, nor my wife, can see the rainbow effect. My wife doesn't want to watch regular TV any more. |
