| This projector is amazing - have it set up as a screening room in my NYC apartment. It's truly phenomenal. I only have one complaint - the projector only has [1] DVI input. This flaw is all the more fatal when you consider that using any input other than DVI to run your devices is an absolute joke. Seriously, they must be kidding me. The quality sucks - unless you use DVI. Nonetheless, I had planned to buy a DVI switcher, and thus bought a Samsung Upconvert HD-DVD player and then had Time Warner unplug it and install an HD cable box. Cable worked fine for the first weekend - superb quality, particularly on the HD channels. But then I happened to unplug the DVI cable from the cable box by accident. Now, whenever I try to re-connect the cable - an error message comes on the screen that says "your HDTV is not capable of decoding an HDCP signal." To make matters worse, the idiots from Time Warner have come over twice and all they do is scratch their heads.. It's obvious that they have no idea how to get the cable working again! Completely ridiculous! They act as if they dont believe that I ever successfully ran a cable signal through the Optoma 739 - when they are the ones who installed it ! I even sprung for a $300 Gefen DVI Switcher device, hoping that if I didn't have to constantly unplug the DVI cable to alternate between DVD and Cable, I would be able to get he cable signal working again. But of course that didn't work. If anyone knows anything about HDCP error messages when using this projector with HD cable, please help me. Otherwise, don't buy this projector if you want to watch TV on it. I can't imagine that I AM THE ONLY PERSON ON THE ISLAND OF MANHATTAN WHO HAS A PRIVATE SCREENING ROOM - YET I SEEM TO BE THE ONLY ONE WHO CANT GET THE CABLE TO WORK. |
