Personal Experience
I was given this one for free! Dvd's look great by themselves, my sat signal was lacking. I hooked the s vid cable from my sat box to my avermedia tvbox 9 and from that to the projector via vga, and WOW! I upped the resolution to 1280x1024(on the tvbox) and my Hd channels are awesome as well as my other Digital channels! I've been using it, with no problems, for the last 6 months as my regular tv and home theater.

Problems
none so far, just make sure there is plenty of air circulating in the room, on hot days (i live in west Texas) especially, or the projector will warn you and shut down.
