Personal Experience
After owning an X1 with nearly 6000 hours, I was excited to find the PD525. The picture is fabulous. 2000 lumens in econ mode is great but 2600 lumens in normal mode is mind blowing for a $900 projector.

Problems
Support from Acer is non-existent. You are on your own. The PD525 has a vertical sync threshold problem, ie it loses sync at 1080i when the picture is mostly white. The Infocus X1 had this problem but it was fixed with a fimware update. This is not likely to happen with Acer.
