Personal Experience
Picture quality and set up is excellent.
After that my experience has been non stop frustration.
Don't be fooled that this is solely a bulb issue. It is not. The issue is one of firmware, cooling and poor product design.
A progessive company would acknowledge the problem, recall the existing units and provide the necessary upgrades proactively. Obviously Benq is neither progressive nor reputable.

Problems
First go round with customer service was brutal. Twelve days to receive an RMA number to just make a service request. Since then I have found the direct line to customer service individual - response has improved slightly. First bulb 180 hours. Second bulb 80 hours. Hot swapped the unit for a new one that supposedly had the upgraded firmware. Did not solve the issue.
Third bulb 40 hours. All this since December.Obviously the current excuse of firmware and cooling is not completely the answer. I have had experience with comparable projector brands to Benq with an experience that is second to none for customer service. Do not accept substandard product quality and service.
There is no need to have a spare bulb sitting around. You have an hour counter on the projector and that is enought to give you an indication that it is time to order a new one.
